A Talk by Tetra Society of North America

About this Talk

The Tetra Society continues to re-imagine what is possible for persons with physical limitations and incorporates advances in technology to address increasingly challenging problems for their clients. The Ottawa Chapter of the Tetra Society has been in the vanguard of this and in the last 5 years has created around 100 assistive devices in service of people with needs in the Ottawa region. The local Chapter is helping pursue new Tetra Society initiatives including formation of Tetra Clubs in universities and colleges, employment of technology for control of the home environment, the development of an advanced communication hub, netCle, to ensure access to the digital world for persons needing assistance, and investigating approaches for a post-pandemic world.

Join us to learn about the innovative steps the Tetra society is taking and how we can help you or a cared one overcome a challenge.

About The Speaker

Tetra Society of North America

Tetra Society of North America

The Tetra Society of North America was formed over 30 years ago through the efforts of Sam Sullivan. Tetra operates on the premise that obstacles to independent living can be overcome with assistive technology both simple and complex, leading to assistive devices that provide solutions not addressed by commercial products. Tetra accepts requests for assistance from people with disabilities and matches them with skilled designers, engineers and technicians able to address their specific obstacles. When these are overcome, people gain independence and self-reliance and are able to pursue more active, happier, and healthy lives. In addition to building custom assistive devices, Tetra has answered the community’s call by adding COVID-19 programs and services with a focus on feeding, protecting, and supporting people with disabilities during the pandemic.
