About this speaker

Dr. Claire Davies has been a medical devices engineer for twenty years with prior tenure at the University of Auckland. The research of Dr. Davies focuses on improving medical devices and assistive technologies to increase independence. She is the director of BDAT (Building and Designing Assistive Technologies) Lab, Collaborative Biomedical Engineering Program Director, Advisor – Queen's Biological Innovation Team, the Queen’s representative on the Canadian Accessibility Network, and Board Member with Thought-Wired Inc (Brain Computer Interfaces). Each year, she runs the Building Better Together Program training 150 undergraduate engineering and occupational therapy students in interdisciplinary co-design.
